Dr. Allan Fields, an award winning ringside physician, with nearly 40 years of experience, confirmed Tavoris Cloud’s injury Thursday night on the Through the Ropes radio program. Cloud pulled out of a scheduled April 10th fight on HBO with Glen Johnson earlier this week due to injury. At the same time the injury was disclosed, it was revealed that Cloud signed a new contract to be promoted by Don King Productions. Dr. Fields, who examined Cloud, told Through the Ropes listeners that there was a knot on the back of Cloud’s left leg, that the fighter complained of severe pain and was noticeably limping. Dr. Fields suspected torn muscle fibers and a hematoma. Cloud was told to lay off training for six weeks. Through the Ropes is heard Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT on 75 stations around the country, Fightnews.com and podcast available on iTunes.
