Lopez, Marquez Meet & Greet

WBO featherweight champ Juan Manuel Lopez, two-division world champion Rafael Marquez and former light heavyweight champion and “Rocky” star Antonio Tarver will participate in a fan autograph signing and meet and greet Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Television City at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, just three days prior to the upcoming SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING doubleheader on Saturday, Nov. 6, live on SHOWTIME® at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Lopez will appear from 2–3 p.m. PT; Marquez from 3–4 p.m. PT; Tarver: 2–4 p.m. PT.

Television City, located inside the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino on Studio Walk, is an exciting interactive attraction where guests can give their opinion on television programming and see the latest technology through daily screenings and product demonstrations.

WBO featherweight titleholder Lopez (29-0, 26 KOs), of Puerto Rico, will defend against two-division world champion Marquez (39-5, 35 KOs), of México City, in what has been called a rebirth of the spirited Puerto Rico vs. Mexico rivalry that spans generations.

Tarver, a former undisputed light heavyweight champion and the first man to knock out future Hall of Famer Roy Jones, Jr., will serve as expert commentator for Saturday’s SHOWTIME fights. Tarver returned to the ring last month, winning his heavyweight debut with a unanimous decision victory over Nagy Aguilera.

In the co-feature, world-ranked contender Allan Green will face veteran contender and former world champ Glen Johnson in a must-win Super Six World Boxing Classic bout. The winner of the 12-rounder will earn a spot in the tournament Semi-Finals.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
