Hard hitting featherweight prospect Abraham Lopez (12-0, 10 KOs) of La Puente, CA will step back into the ring against veteran Felipe “La Avispa” Almanza (18-21-4, 9 KOs) of Colombia on Friday, February 25th at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA which is being headlined by junior welterweight Jose “El Niño” Reynoso (13-3-1, 2 KOs) of Riverside, CA defending his WBC Caribbean Boxing Federation junior welterweight title against Santos Pakau (27-6-2, 10 KOs) of New Zealand in a 10-round bout and is being presented by Thompson Boxing Promotions.
“I’m very excited about getting back in the ring; this is my first fight since I had my hand surgery,” said Abraham Lopez. “Everything is going great and I’m just ready to get back in there. I know we’re going to have a great year thanks to my manager Frank Espinoza and my promoters Gary Shaw and Thompson Boxing,” continued Lopez.
Also, in action that night will be highly talented junior featherweight Efrain Esquivias, Jr., (11-0, 7 KOs) of Carson, CA taking on Shawn “Bones” Nichol (5-2, 5 KOs) of Lakewood, CO and Artemio “King” Reyes (9-1, 8KOs) of Colton, CA against Francisco “Panchito” Rios Gil (17-15, 12 KOs) of Mexico in a 6-round welterweight bout.
In his last outing, Abraham Lopez defeated Willshaun Boxley (6-8-1, 4 KOs) in July at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California after his opponent did not come out to begin the fourth round.
