Welterweight Jose “Piston” Lopez (17-2-1, 10 KOs) won a twelve round majority decision over Jose Emilio Perea (21-2, 13 KOs) to claim the WBF title on Friday night at the legendary Jalisco Arena in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Scores were 118-110, 116-112 and 114-114.
In the co-feature, super bantamweight (24-11-4, 19 KOs) Giovanni “Ruso” Caro scored a fourth round TKO over Mario Macias (24-9, 11 KOs).
The card was presented by Promociones Del Pueblo and HG Boxing, and televised in Mexico by Cadena 3.
