Lorenzo wins in return

Former middleweight title challenger Giovanni “Chico Malo” Lorenzo (28-2, 20 KOs) returned on Friday night for the first time since dropping a split decision to Sebastian Sylvester in an IBF title clash last September. Lorenzo knocked out Wilmer Gonzalez (17-9-1, 11 KOs) in round two of a bout held at the Sosua Bay Grand Casino in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Also victorious were 2008 Olympic gold medalist Felix Diaz (5-0, 3 KOs), who outpointed Orlando Membreno (11-13-1) over six, and super middleweight Julius Jackson (5-0, 5 KOs), who won when opponent Frank Mola (3-1, 1 KO) didn’t come out for round four. Jackson is the son of former world champion and ring great Julian Jackson.
