After a few light workouts in recent days, WBO interim jr middleweight champion Lukas Konecny and the SES team went on a sightseeing tour through the historic city of Kiev. In sunny weather, a tour of the St. Sophia Cathedral with its imposing bell tower, the “Golden Gate” Chmelnyzkyi and the great views of the spectacular city at the Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitsky Monument were special highlights. Other SES-fighters appearing on the undercard at Kiev’s “Palace Of Sports” included light heavyweight Dominic Bösel and newcomer Moritz Stahl, along with trainer Dirk Dzemski. “Kiev reminds me much of my Czech capital Prague,” said Konecny. “The street life has caused almost native feelings, so a city tour is a nice change in the concentration for Saturday evening.” Konecny (48-3, 23 KOs) takes on reigning WBO champion Zaurbek Baysangurov (27-1, 20 KOs) for the absolute title.
