K2 East promotions will present its next tournament, announced as “World Boxing” on June 27 at “Ukraine” Palace of Sports in Lviv, western Ukraine. The headliner is a heated clash between two ex-Soviet fighters for the vacant EBA (WBA European branch) welterweight title. Local hero Victor Plotnikov (21-1, 10 KOs), 31, fought only twice out of native Lviv during his pro career, yet taking formidable Belgian contender Jackson Osei Bonsu in deep waters en route to a close decision loss a year ago in one of these outings. Plotnikov collides with unbeaten Uzbek Sherzodbek Alimjanov (15-0, 10 KOs), who spent almost his entire career at home as well, capturing his share of minor titles during the process. Plotnikov-Alimjanov fight is scheduled for twelve rounds, and fireworks are expected.
In what seems to be his toughest fight in years, K2 East promoted Croatian Mario Preskar (16-0-2, 10 KOs) takes on once beaten Ukrainian heavyweight Maxim Pedyura (13-1, 11 KOs) over ten. Pedyura’s only loss was this February to the WBA #14 heavyweight Alexander Ustinov. Junior middleweight Kostya Rovensky (11-0, 2 KOs) is set for ten against dangerous upset specialist Tursunbay Abdulakimov (11-2, 3 KOs). In a heated super bantamweight collision of two journeymen, Gennady Delisandru (18-14-1, 6 KOs) will oppose Mamed Yadgarov (11-5, 5 KOs).
Also set to take their part in the show are a number of K2 East undefeated prospects, including heavyweight Andrey Rudenko (13-0, 6 KOs), lightweight Valentin Golovko (8-0, 5 KOs), junior welterweight Artiom Ayvazidi (6-0, 1 KO) and super middleweight Vasily Klyusa (11-0, 7 KOs). The show starts at 6 PM LT and will be broadcasted by Megasport TV channel.
