Marcos Rene “El Chino” Maidana has officially given up his world title at 140 pounds and moved up to campaign at welterweight. Maidana has officially informed the WBA that he can’t continue in the division where he was twice world champion due to problems making weight. Maidana’s next fight against Jesus Soto Karass on September 15 in Las Vegas could be a welterweight elimination bout.
