A proposed bout between WBA interim junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (26-1, 25 KOs) and #1 ranked contender Dmitriy Salita (30-0-1, 16 KOs) is in the works for November. Maidana broke the news on TyC Sports (an all sports network in Argentina ) in a live interview last night. He did not specify an exact date or location. Originally Fightnews reported that Maidana could possibly meet Amir Khan in October. However shortly after that, Golden Boy Promotions and Universum Box-Promotion announced the formation of a strategic alliance between the two companies and executed a co-promotional agreement which covers several world champions including Maidana.
