Manfredo A Contender Again

Ringside Report by Scott Ploof

“The Pride of Providence” is back once again and just like most warriors in the sport, if you knock them down, they get right back up. For Peter Manfredo Jr., (34-6, 18 KOs) his career is back on the fast track as he battered and bruised Matt Vanda (42-10, 22 KOs) over ten rounds to score a unanimous decision on Friday night at the Mohegan Sun resort and casino in Uncasville, CT. The judges saw the bout as a perfect shutout for Manfredo Jr. as the cards read 100-89 twice and 99-90. More importantly in doing so he captured the vacant NABF middleweight title and a chance as a “Contender” to challenge for a world title in the middleweight division. The undefeated NABF featherweight titlist, Matt “The Sharp Shooter” Remillard silenced his critics as he is poised to move to the next level as he decimated his opponent Rafael Lora over three rounds. Lora was unable to come out of his corner to start the fourth round, which gave Remillard the convincing TKO victory. The seven bout fight card was promoted by TKO Boxing Promotions, Inc.
