Manuel Charr calls out Vitali Klitschko at “Celebrity Big Brother”

By Malte Müller-Michaelis

Heavyweight contender Manuel Charr is part of German reality TV show “Celebrity Big Brother” which premiered Friday night on national network Sat.1. The “Diamond Boy” will spend two weeks in the “Big Brother house” in Berlin along with eleven other celebrities including former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff. Charr moved into the house wearing a “WBC World Champion” shirt and four regional WBC titles which he collected over the last years. “It is my goal to unify all regional WBC belts to force Vitali Klitschko into a rematch. Vitali, it ain’t over till it’s over. Come and fight me,” Charr stated at the live show.

One year ago the 28-year-old Lebanese fighter challenged Klitschko for the WBC world championship in Moscow and was stopped by a cut over the eye in the fourth round. Charr still believes that the fight shouldn’t have been stopped and he deserves another shot. His appearance at “Celebrity Big Brother” is clearly a pr move – but it might be a dangerous one: Manuel Charr is scheduled to fight Denis Bakhtov on October 19th in Leipzig which means that he is interrupting training camp to star in a TV show. “I will train three times a day. I got a gym in there, that’s all I need”, says Charr. And who knows, maybe the “Diamond Boy” can even do some rounds of sparring with “The Hoff.”
