At a press conference held at Nick Durand’s gym in Norwood near Johannesburg today, Pat Molefe of Rainbow Promotions announced that Mikey Schultz will meet Tineyi Maridzo of Zimbabwe in a return match. In their first fight held on November 20 last year, Schultz (15-1, 10 KOs) was sensationally knocked out in the first round by the unknown Maridzo who has a reported record of (4-6, 3 KOs).
Maridzo won the interim WBO Africa super middleweight title in the first fight and as the title has now become vacant they will be contesting the full title.
The tournament promoted by Pat Molefe in conjunction with Nick Durandt and Neotel Africa will be held at the Wembley Indoor Arena in Johannesburg on Thursday, July 1.
Trainer Nick Durandt said there is great of interest in the rematch and he expects a crowd of in the region of 3,000 to be in attendance.

Junior heavyweight, 8 rounds: Daniel Bruwer vs. Sean Santana; Junior middleweight, 6 rounds: Michael van Heerden vs. Michael Sangweni; Lightweight, 4 rounds: Jared Silverman vs. Emmanuel Ndou; Junior middleweight, 6 rounds: Welcome Ntshingila vs. Pius Dipheko; Light heavyweight: 4 rounds: Ryno Liebenberg vs. Caster Ndou.
