The full line-up has been announced for the May 23 “Combinacion Letal” card in Monterrey, Mexico headlining the return of Rafael Marquez and the WBC 122-pound title fight between Jhonny Gonzalez and champ Toshiaki Nishioka.
The co-main is a special ten-round bout at 122 featuring the return of Rafael Marquez (37-5, 33 KOs), who will take on Jose Francisco Mendoza (21-2-2, 17 KOs), of Bogota, Colombia. The fight will be a title eliminator.
In the main event, Gonzalez (40-6, 34 KOs) takes on WBC Super Bantam Champ Toshiaki Nishioka (33-4-3, 20 KOs) for his belt.
Four ten-rounders, an eight-rounder and a sixer are also scheduled:
In a ten-rounder for the WBC Fecombox welter belt, Michael “Mykol” Medina (19-1-2, 15 KOs), of Monterrey, will take on Bladimir Hernandez (15-1, 13 KOs), of Chihuahua, Mexico.
In a ten-rounder at superlightweight, Juarez’s Javier “El Zorro” Castro (19-2, 17 KOs) takes on Guadalupe “Bronco” Rosales (28-4, 16 KOs), of xxx.
For the WBC Fecombox superflyweight belt, Chihuahua’s Victor Zaleta (8-1, 5 KOs), fights Oscar Saturnino (11-6, 3 KOs), of Mexico City.
Defending his WBC Fecombox middleweight belt, Chihuahua’s Marco “Dorado” Reyes (11-0, 10 KOs) will battle Martin “Azteca” Avila (9-5, 3 KOs), of Juarez.
In an eight-rounder at superfeatherweight, Juarez’s Angel Reyna (10-1-1, 4 KOs) takes on undefeated Juan Carlos Salgado (19-0-1, 13 KOs), of Mexico City.
In a sixer at welter, Alejandro Barrera (9-0, 7 KOs), of Monterrey, fights Arnold Gamboa (4-6, 3 KOs), of Honduras.
