Mexican superstar Juan Manuel Márquez has passed a twelve round endurance test on Monday at the La Romanza Gym in Mexico City. Wearing eight-ounce gloves, Márquez sparred with Roberto Norris (Cuba), Tony Fernandez (Panama), Alejandro Barrera (Mexico) and Juan Montiel (Mexico). Trainer “Nacho” Beristain has been putting Márquez through a hard training regimen as he prepares for his September 19 fight with Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas. Márquez, is the current WBA and WBO lightweight world champion and the fight against Mayweather will be at 144-145 pounds, although the official contract weight of the fight is not being announced.
