In a non-title 115lb bout, WBA flyweight champion Hernan “Tyson” Marquez (34-2, 25 KOs) won a hard fought ten round majority decision over Fernando Lumacad (26-4-3, 11 KOs) on Saturday night at the Palenque de la Feria in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Scores were 97-94, 97-94, 95-95. The Marquez camp will now look to a September unification showdown with WBO champion Brian Viloria.
Former world champion Tomas “Gusano” Rojas (39-13-1, 25 KOs) scored a fourth round stoppage of Manuel “Pajarito” Herrera (19-10-1, 13 KOs) in a super bantamweight bout.
Ricardo “Pelon” Dominguez (36-8-2, 22 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Gilberto “Flaco” Gonzalez (18-3-0, 14 KOs) in a super lightweight bout.
Oscar Arce, nephew of five-time world champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce, won by third round KO over Arcadio Salazar.
