Marroquin upset by Diaz; Ramirez stays unbeaten

In an upset, super featherweight Daniel Diaz (20-5-1, 15 KOs) scored a ten round split decision over recent WBA world title challenger Roberto Marroquin (23-3, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the WinStar World Casino, Thackerville, Oklahoma. Diaz dropped Marroquin twice in round one and Marroquin came up limping. Good two-way action the rest of the way with Diaz prevailing 96-92, 96-92 on two cards. Marroquin was ahead on the third card 95-93.

Unbeaten Olympian super lightweight Jose Ramirez (4-0, 3 KOs) annihilated Christopher Williams (1-2, 0 KOs) in round one. Body shots made Williams turn his back and the bout was stopped. Time was 1:30.

Unbeaten lightweight prospect Ivan Najera (11-0, 8 KOs) hammered out a hard fought six round unanimous decision over tough guy Alexander Lopez (6-5, 1 KO). Scores were 58-56, 58-56, 59-55.

Unbeaten welterweight Brad Solomon (20-0, 8 KOs) scored an impressive fifth round KO over Henry Auraad (14-8-1, 11 KOs). Solomon scored 3 knockdowns in the bout.

In a clash between unbeaten super bantamweight, Tramaine Williams (8-0, 2 KOs) pounded out a six round unanimous decision over Isaac Zarate (5-1, 0 KOs). Scores were 60-54 on all cards.

Super lightweight Daniel Calzada (8-7-2, 2 KOs) scored a fourth round KO over Wilbert Mitchell (1-8, 0 KOs).

Unbeaten welterweight Alex Saucedo (9-0, 6 KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Wendel Henley (11-3-1, 10 KOs). Scores were 40-36 on all cards.
