Looks like a proposed December 5th fight between WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (41-1-2, 24 KOs) and former IBF welterweight champion Joshua Clottey (35-3, 20 KOs) is not as close as had been rumored. According to Martinez’ representative Sampson Lewkowicz and promoter Lou DiBella, that bout was offered but immediately turned down by the Clottey camp. The fight had been reported on Friday night’s TyC Sports boxing telecast. The main event on the Atlantic City card will feature WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik 35-1, 31 KOs) defending against two-division world champion Paul “The Punisher” Williams (37-1, 27 KOs).
