Martinez granted visa for U.S.

Mexican contender Gabriel “Rey” Martinez (24-1-1, 13 KOs), promoted by Latin Sports Promotions, couldn’t be happier after getting the good news that he will again be able to work his craft in the U.S., after just being granted his work visa. Martinez will be looking to challenge big names in the super lightweight and welterweight division.

Martinez, who’s the current Mexican welterweight champ stated:  “I’m very happy for the opportunity my promotional company is giving me to be able to fight again in the United States, where I’ve already fought nine times in tough fights and won them all.  I would like to look into a rematch of my only loss to “Canelo” Alvarez, who’s been really pushed lately as a great Mexican prospect.  I’d love to do it again in American soil and show people what I’m made of”.

Martinez, who also had a good amateur career, told his promoter that he’s ready to further his steady career and fight anyone, anywhere, to which Ahmed Santos of Latin Sports said:  “We’re pleased to be able to help Gabriel fight again in America and will be looking to fight him against any of the top guys and prospects at 140 and 147.”
