Newly crowned WBO super featherweight champion Ramon “Rocky” Martinez (22-0-1, 14 KOs) proudly displays his official world title he received today from the World Boxing Organization in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Martinez defeated the world champion Nicky Cook (29-2, 16KOs) by 4th round TKO in M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, United Kingdom this past Saturday. “I’m very thankful to the public for their reception they gave me. I’ve always trained extremely hard and it paid off. My dream of becoming a world champion is now a reality,” said Martinez.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
