Gennady Martirosyan (17-1, 6 KOs) came back strong to his hometown of Saint Petersburg and solidified his credentials with the convincing ten-round unanimous decision over tough but limited Croatian Vedran Akrap (12-7, 6 KOs) moments ago at Casino Conti. Scores were 100-90 and 99-91 (twice) for the local hero who retained his PABA middleweight title and WBO #13 ranking with this victory.
Rising cruiserweight prospect Alexander Kotlobay (14-1-1, 9 KOs) added a sound name to his resume with a sixth-round TKO over rugged Czech Lubos Suda (20-3-1, 14 KOs). Kotlobay dominated the first five rounds but was enforced into some action in the sixth stanza. However, after his brightest round in the fight, the Czech import quit in his corner citing a hand injury. Suda has a win over former world champion Firat Arslan in his record.
Also, young heavyweight gun Maxim Maslov (8-0, 6 KOs) scored the sixth-round TKO over Ukrainian giant (6’9’’) Alexander Kabanov (6-3, 4 KOs) with several knockdowns down the road. This show was promoted by the local company Jab Promotions.
