Martirosyan off Feb 5th card

By Francisco Salazar

WBO #1 super welterweight Vanes Martirosyan (28-0, 17 KOs) is off the February 5th Top Rank LIVE card at the Activities Center in Maywood, California. Martirosyan was scheduled for an eight-rounder, but no suitable opponent could be found. Manager Steve Fader told that Vanes will work one-on-one with trainer Freddie Roach for two solid weeks and be ready for a bout in March.

The February main event will feature a ten-rounder between super middleweights Francisco Sierra (23-3, 21 KOs) and Carlos DeLeon (21-3-2, 14 KOs). Also unbeaten heavyweight Andy Ruiz (7-0, 5 KOs) will see action.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
