Saint Petersburg based prizefighters’ company Jab Promotions, headed by Vitaly Supichenko and former bantamweight stalwart Alexander Yagupov, will stage its next boxing tournament on October 31 at Typhoon fight club in the Northern Palmira. Headlining the show is a comebacking local contender and middleweight crowd-pleaser Gennady Martirosyan (18-2, 7 KOs), 29, in a clash against Spaniard Miguel Angel Pena (28-14-4, 9 KOs) for a vacant WBO European belt in the very same weight class.
Martirosyan has lost to up-and-coming France-based Cameroonian Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam this June. He has rebounded from that loss with a first-round kayo victory over weak opposition. 36-year-old Pena is a former Spanish light welterweight champion, who is just 4-7 in his last bouts.
A bunch of rising prospects, including welterweights Daniil Utenkov (6-0, 4 KOs) and Sherali Mamadaliev (7-0, 3 KOs) and middleweight Ali Ganibaev (5-0, 4 KOs) will be showcased in an undercard. The event begins at 5 PM LT (GMT+3).
