On March 14th, former WBC heavyweight titleholder Oleg Maskaev (35-6, 26 KOs) will conduct his second comeback fight in a row since a stoppage loss to Samuel Peter. The bout will be held in Saransk, capital of Mordvinia, one of a few republics in Russian Federation. This event was confirmed by Tatyana Emelianova, deputy director of the republic’s CSP today in her interview to All Sport media agency. “On Feb. 12th, a special conference of the organizing committee will be conducted as a part of the government’s meeting to determine an exact venue of the match. American veteran Rich Boruff (17-2-1, 10 KOs) is the most possible choice for a future opponent. However, Oleg is scheduled to fight on March 14th in our capital anyway, regardless of the opponent selected,” said Emelianova. WBC #6 and IBF #7 Maskaev, who will turn 40 years of age eleven days prior the bout, is of Mordvinian origin.
