The weigh-in (4PM at Vinyl inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino) is open to the public. Matthysse, who is 32-2 with 30 KOs (both losses controversial), is listed by as a prohibitive 33:1 favorite. Backers of Dallas Jr. (19-2-1, 8 KOs) can get 12:1. Dallas was rated at #33 in the most recent WBC ratings.

Matthysse told that Argentinian press “I want to win in a convincing way. I intend to take advantage of this opportunity to show the boxing fans what I can do.” He also stated he will be on hand to see WBC/WBA champion Danny Garcia defend against Zab Judah on February 9 and stated “I want Danny! This will be my next big fight.”

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
