Maynard wins split decision over Guida

With the exception of a brief minute and a half window in the fourth round, the war between lightweight contenders Gray Maynard and Clay Guida never materialized, but when it was over Friday night, Maynard got back in the win column the hard way, eking out a close split decision victory in the UFC on FX main event at the Revel Casino.

“I thought Guida was coming to fight,” said Maynard, winner by tallies of 48-47 twice and 47-48. “He’s a tough kid, he came with a little gameplan, whatever it was. I thought I won that fight” . . . Click here for more by Thomas Gerbasi, UFC.com
