A important source has informed Fightnews.com about the continuing possibility that WBC super welterweight world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and multiple division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. fighting the same night on May 4 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas against different opponents and maintains hope that both can meet on September 14 in the same arena.
Although not confirmed, Mayweather could face WBC interim welterweight champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero while Alvarez is tentatively penciled in to face WBA super welterweight champion Austin Trout or former three-division champion Miguel Cotto.
