In October 2009, Fightnews reported that WBA/IBF super bantamweight champion Celestino Caballero (33-2, 23 KOs) was to be trained by Jeff Mayweather of the famed Mayweather family. The two recently begain training together in Las Vegas, Nevada where Mayweather resides and things are going smoothly. “Working with Caballero is what trainer’s dream of getting in a fighter. Even though he’s a world champion he wants to get better and is an extremely hard worker. He told me that as far as the training goes I’m in charge and that he’s trusting in me. I can’t ask for more than that as a trainer,” said Mayweather. Jeff Mayweather, uncle to boxing superstar Floyd “Money” Mayweather, comes with his own championship credentials. In addition to being a former IBO world champion as a boxer, he led Sultan Ibragimov to the WBO heavyweight title in 2007 as a trainer.
