Mayweather Jr. Surrenders for Jail Stint

WBA super welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. turned himself in Friday to begin serving an 87-day jail sentence for domestic abuse charges. The champ was accompanied to the courtroom by close friend 50 Cent, advisor Leonard Ellerbe and cutman Raphael Garcia.

Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa commended Floyd on already completing 21 of 54 counseling sessions and 45 of 100 hours of community service before he was cuffed and led to a holding cell.

He should be able to shave several weeks off his sentence with good behavior.
