The hot topic during Floyd Mayweather’s workout today at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas was Floyd’s reaction to Oscar de la Hoya’s statement made yesterday that he would be surprised if Canelo doesn’t knock out Floyd in less than eight rounds.

Floyd Mayweather: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The last time I checked, everyone had a game plan to beat Floyd Mayweather. My job is to go out there and execute the game plan and do what I do best. Oscar said he was gonna knock me out also and you saw what happened in that fight.

Leonard Ellerbe: The fans don’t even believe that. They know that Oscar is his promoter and that’s what he’s supposed to say. I mean, did he [Canelo] knock out Austin Trout?

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
