In an interesting battle of comebacking heavyweight notables, 44-year-old former WBC heavyweight champion Oliver McCall (54-9, 37 KOs) dropped 37-year-old longtime contender Lance Whitaker (34-6-1, 28 KOs) in round one and went on to win a narrow ten round unanimous decision on Saturday night at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Scores were 95-94 on all cards for McCall, who retained his IBA Continental belt.

In the co-feature, cruiserweight Victor Barragan (11-4, 3 KOs) stopped 44-year-old former IBF champion “King” Arthur Williams (46-16-1, 30 KOs) in the seventh round to claim Williams’ interim WBC USNBC title.
