McEwan-Perez tonight

By Francisco Salazar

Another night of youth versus experience will take place tonight at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA as unbeaten Middleweight Craig McEwan will take on Danny Perez. The main event bout is scheduled for 10 rounds. McEwan (18-0, 10 KO’s) stopped Kris Andrews in his last fight in April and will face his toughest opponent to date in his young career. Although Perez (34-7, 17 KO’s) has lost his last two bouts, he is still a dangerous boxer who is hoping to put the first blemish on McEwan’s record. Featherweight Charles Huerta (13-1, 7 KO’s) will take on upset-minded and hard-hitting Jonathan Arias in a six round bout. Huerta has won his last two bouts, while Arias (10-6, 8 KO’s) has won his last six bouts in a row. In an attractive eight round bout, Welterweights Keith Thurman (12-0, 11 KO’s) and Stalinn Lopez (7-0, 3 KO’s) will square off in a battle of unbeaten fighters. Three more bouts will round out the card. Oscar De La Hoya and Bantamweight contender Abner Mares are scheduled to attend. Tickets start at $35 and could be purchased by calling 1-877-711-2946. Doors open at 6PM, with first bell scheduled for 7PM. Golden Boy Promotions will promote the card in association with Ringside Ticket. Telefutura will televise on their popular “Solo Boxeo Tecate” series.
