WBC USNBC welterweight champion Favio Medina (23-2-3, 8 KOs) of Sandpoint, Idaho defeated Floridian Damian Frias (16-4, 7 KOs) by a closely contested unanimous decision Thursday night at the Coeur d’Alene Casino in Worley, Idaho. Frias dropped Medina in round one but Medina beat the count and went on to victory. Some on hand felt Frias clearly won the fight and was the victim of a hometown decision going against him.
