Idaho welterweight Favio Medina improved to 21-2-2 with a ten round unanimous decision over Gary Burgeron (10-3) on Thursday night at the Coeur d’Alene Casino in Worley, Idaho. For Medina it was a return to the win column after a disappointing loss in this same arena three months ago to Orlando Lora. Medina, who weighed in at 147 lbs used his trademark pressure and crisp punching to dominate the action, winning on scores of 99-91 twice, and 97-93.
In the co feature Heavyweight Skyler Anderson had to work considerably harder to earn his 13th victory, a split decision over Raphael Pedro by scores of 100-95, 99-91, and 97-94 for Pedro. The young heavyweight was tested throughout the fight as Pedro (20-8-1) pressed the action against the superior boxing skills and speed of Anderson.
In other action Welterweight Hilario Lopez stopped Jess Salway at :39 of round two. Body punching turned out to be the undoing of Salway who drops to (3-13-1) while Lopez improves to (11-6).
