Mendez defeats Reyes

Junior welterweight Argenis Mendez (17-1, 9 KOs) knocked down Shamir Reyes (18-7-2, 7 KOs) in round one and cruised to a one-sided 80-71, 80-71, 79-72 win on Wednesday night at BB Kings located in the heart of New York City.
In the co-feature, junior welterweight Gabriel Bracero (10-0, 1 KO) scored his first career KO dropping Raymond Betancourt (8-5, 3 KOs) in rounds one, two and four. Time was 2:53.
Junior middleweight Phillip Jackson Benson (6-1, 5 KOs) TKO’d previously unbeaten Alexander Santana (6-1, 3 KOs) at 1:30 of round three.
Unbeaten middlewight Willie Monroe (9-0, 3 KOs) won when Loren Myers (7-9-1, 2 KOs) couldn’t continue after round three due to a cut.
Light heavyweight kayo artist Joe Smith Jr. moved to 5-0, 5 KOs after a second round destruction of Charles Wade (1-7, 1 KO). Time was 1:10.
In his pro debut, heavyweight Stivens Bujaj stopped Calvin Rooks (1-2-1) in round two.
