Unbeaten WBC #2 super lightweight Roberto “Massa” Ortiz (29-0-1, 23 KOs) scored a tenth round KO over Jorge “Koki” Romero (24-6, 21 KOs) to defend his WBC silver belt on Saturday night at the Tabasco Park Nave 1 in Villahermosa, Mexico. Ortiz dropped Romero with a barrage of punches in round ten to end it. Time was 1:36.

In a big upset, late sub Ivan “Zudrito” Alvarez (14-5, 10 KOs) surprised Jorge “Pantera” Silva (20-4-2, 16 KOs), taking a ten round unanimous decision in a welterweight clash. Scores were 96-94, 98-92 and 98-92. Silva had recently given Alfredo Angulo all he could handle.

Former world title challenger Librado Andrade (31-5, 24 KOs) needed just 70 seconds to annihilate Eduardo Ayala (17-36-4, 8 KOs) in a light heavyweight bout

New Mexico prospect Fidel Maldonado Jr. (16-2, 13 KOs) scored a first round KO over Abraham Alvarez (16-4-1, 7 KOs) in a junior welterweight clash.
