Migreno speaks about upset over Pongsaklek

By Chito Yu Katangkatang

Filipino journeyman Migreno R. Singwangcha (18-20-2, 16 KOs) commented on his surprising upset KO over Thai flyweight legend Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (87-5-2, 46 KOs) on Thursday. “My manager Brico Santig and my Coach Joven Jorda had but the same advice. That is, to show no respect to Pongsaklek’s power,” said Migreno. “The guy is not the same as he was. I knew he can’t knock me out and it was obvious when Sonny Boy Jaro knocked him out that he had the skills but his body couldn’t execute them anymore. They thought I would be an easy fight because of my record. But I’m sorry, I am more than what my record says. I am very happy right now. I am proud to be a Filipino warrior.” Migreno will be back to Manila tomorrow and will take a short break with his family.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
