Super Welterweight Champion Miguel Cotto will be at the Grand Marshall for the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Chicago on Saturday June 19. As a part of his visit to the Windy City, Cotto visited the Shriners Hospital for the Children of Chicago Friday. “It was a great experience for me to visit the hospital and share with the children and give them some joy and smiles,” Cotto said. The Shriners Hospital works to serve the needs of children with orthopedic and spinal cord injuries.
“It was a great honor for our hospital to receive the champion Miguel Cotto and he is very humble to share time with the children,” said Kally Walsh, the publicist for the hospital.
Also the new 154-pound world champion had the honor to make the first pitch at the famous Wrigley Field for the Inter league Game between the Chicago Cubs and the Anaheim Angels.
“It was great coming to a great stadium like the Wrigley Field the home of the Chicago Cubs. I had a wonderful time with the players and the fans,” Cotto added.
Cotto will attend the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Chicago, and his trainer Emanuel Steward will join him in the Puerto Rican festivities.
