Former unified super flyweight world champion Cristian Mijares (45-6-2, 21 KOs) scored a fourth round KO over Eddy Julio (13-4-1, 11 KOs) on Saturday night at the Poliforum Unidad Deportiva Centenario in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. A right hand finished Julio at the 2:47 mark. Next up for Mijares could be a fight with Nonito Donaire in July.
Lightweight Marvin Quintero (25-3, 20 KOs) stopped previously unbeaten Al Sabaupan (18-1-1, 13 KOs) in round nine of an IBF eliminator. Quintero is now the #1 contender and mandatory challenger to face IBF champion Miguel Vázquez (30-3, 13 KOs).
