Former world champion Cristian Mijares (45-6-2, 21 KOs) and Eusebio Osejo (21-10-2, 7 KOs) were present at the press conference this Thursdayin advance of next Saturday at the Palenque de Gallos in Aguascalientes. Mijares and Osejo are both leftys and will fight in a ten-round super bantamweight clash.
Christian Mijares: Osejo is an experienced opponent and good fighter. I want to be world champion and I know I can be. I have the level and power to do it, but first I have to win on Saturday. I’m ready for any world champion and I am confident I’ll be world champion again.”
Promoter Fernando Beltran: Cristian Mijares is one of the most talented fighters in boxing today, and now at super bantamweight, his punching power has increased. He’ll be fighting for a world title this year, of course provided be beats Osejo on Saturday in Aguascalientes.
The Mijares-Osejo clash will be supported by a ten-round international Mexico vs. Philippines fight between bantamweights Felipe Orucuta and Richard Garcia.
The event will be presented next Saturday from the Palenque de la Feria de Aguascalientes and will be transmitted in Mexico by TV Azteca.
