Hammer, Mikhalkin, Seferi win in Berlin

WBO #6 heavyweight Christian Hammer (16-3, 10 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over slugger Konstantin “The Sandman” Airich (19-8-2, 15 KOs) on Friday night at Universal Hall in Berlin, Germany. Most rounds were close with lots of infighting and Airich gave at least as good as he got. Judges didn’t see it that way. House fighter Hammer was declared the winner with no scores given. Four straight losses for Airich.

IBF #15 light heavyweight rated Igor Mikhalkin (15-1, 8 KOs) won an eight round technical decision over Mohamed Belkacem (21-7-1, 9 KOs) to claim the vacant EBU title. The one-sided fight was stopped in round eight due to a cut under the left eye of Belkacem.

WBO #14 cruiserweight Nuri Seferi (35-6, 20 KOs) won a questionable eight round decision over former world title challenger Gusmyr Perdomo (21-4, 14 KOs). Perdomo did more but Seferi was surprisingly announced as the winner with no scores being given.
