Mitchell returns, but can’t stop journeyman; Jenkins wins Prizefighter

In his first fight since an unsuccessful lightweight title challenge against Ricky Burns last September, lightweight contender Kevin Mitchell (34-2, 24 KOs) scored an eight round decision over journeyman Sebastien Benito (10-7, 3 KOs) in a bout fought at jr welterweight on Saturday night at York Hall in East London. Mitchell dropped the overmatched Benito in round seven, but was unable to get the stoppage. Score was 80-71.

Also on the card, Chris Jenkins (10-0, 5 KOs) stopped Danny Connor (10-6-1, 0 KOs) in round two of the Prizefighter: Light Welterweights final. Jenkins wins £34,000. No big names in this edition of Prizefighter.
