A rematch between super flyweights Juan Jose “Goofy” Montes and Oscar “Ceviche” Ibarra will take place on Saturday at the Municipal Gym in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. Ibarra-Montes I in February (won by Montes via unanimous decision) was an exciting encounter and is considered one of the best from Mexico in 2012. The vacant WBF belt will be on the line. The event is billed as “Cuentas Pendientes” (Pending Accounts) will be presented by Promociones del Pueblo and broadcast by Televisa.
Also that night, WBF female flyweight beltholder Irma “Guerita” Sánchez defends against WBC former champion Carina “Reina” Moreno, and bantamweight prospect Julio “Pollito” Ceja will defend his IBF Latino crown against veteran Genaro “Poblanito” Garcia.
