Three-time former world champion Fernando “Kochulito” Montiel won by unanimous decision ((114-112, 114-113 and 115-112)) against Giovanni “Ruso” Caro on Saturday night at the Joshua Neri Santos Municipal Gym in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Montiel suffered a cut on the right cheek and eyelid and Caro was cut on the bridge of the nose which bled profusely, but the intensity never waned. It was a ceaseless exchange of blows that thrilled the crowd throughout. Montiel retained his WBC USNBCsuper banatamweight WBC USNBC crown.
In other action, lightweight Alejandro Sanabria (34-1-1, 25 KOs) won ten round split decision (96-94, 97-93 and 92-96) over Nery Saguilan (24-3-1, 10 KOs).
Also, lightweight Abdiel Ramirez (15-1-1, 14 KOs) knocked out late sub Heli Quiroz in two rounds and welterweight Javier “Intocable” Molina (12-1, 5 KOs) won by six round majority decision over Fernando Silva (7-6-2, 2 KOs).
