The final press conference took place Thursday for a card billed as “Kochulito in Ixtapa” featuring the fight between Mexican three-time world champion Fernando “Kochulito” Montiel and Filipino challenger Jaderes Padua to dispute the WBC International super bantamweight championship in the Sports Complex at Hotel Azul Ixtapa in an event presented by Promociones del Pueblo and Kochul Montiel Producciones.
“They say I’ll retire if I lose, but also quite possibly I might retire if I win and I feel good. I want to convince the people of Ixtapa, no fooling,” stated Montiel.
Padua said, “You see my best fight this Saturday. I have wanted to be world champion and I also want tofemale take the WBC belt that Kochulito is aiming at. In my last fight I had a defeat from which I learned a lot and I’m going out with the upper hand.”
In the co main event, Mexican former IBF and WBA world champion Arely Muciño goes against Colombian Olga Muciño in a flyweight ten-rounder.
