Things heated up at Thursday’s press conference for Saturday night’s clash between three-division world champion Fernando “Kochulito” Montiel (47-4-2, 37 KOs) and 2008 Mexican Olympian Arturo “El Rey” Santos (11-1, 4 KOs) at the Gimnasio Manuel Bernardo Aguirre in Chihuahua, Mexico. The bout is a twelve-rounder for the WBC International super bantamweight belt.
Arthur “El Rey” Santos: “I’ve been presented with a great opportunity, I’m well prepared, he’s experienced but I want to take the step up to better things. I have too much experience and I’m able to do great things and people will go satisfied.”
Fernando Montiel: “I come well prepared, I don’t care if he has a thousand fights, nobody has given me anything, it’s not by chance all I earned. I hope soon to return to Chihuahua as a promoter or fighter, they have treated me well and I am prepared to give a great show.”
The event is jointly presented by Promociones del Pueblo and Kochul Promociones.
