Possibilities exist that Mexican world champions Fernando “KO Chulito” Montiel and Ulises “Archie” Solís will defend their titles against Filipinos Nonito Donaire and Brian Viloria in early 2009. Montiel would defend his WBO super flyweight world championship, while Solís would defend the IBF junior flyweight crown. Although there has been talk of Montiel moving up to bantamweight, discussions continue in regard to defending the 115lb crown. The fights would take place in the Philippines in March.
