On a chilly Colorado night, 700 fans packed the Colorado Springs Event Center for Friday Nights Fights presented by Sundown Entertainment. The crowd was treated to a boxing clinic by the young Donovan “Slick” Estrella. Hometown fighters Ruben Jacoby, Marcus Dawkins and Maurice Louishomme also picked up victories.

In the main event, Mike Montoya Jr. drilled and knocked out Isaiah Barela at 2:32 of the first round with referee Rob Mullings calling a stop. It was as non-competitive as a fight can be. Montoya improves to 5-2-1, 2KOs while Barela drops to 4-4, 3KOs.

Dominating performance for Donovan Estrella

The first is a dominating round for Estrella as he drops Medina with a counter right hook. Estrella is too fast and slick for Medina in the first stanza. Estrella dominates round two as well, staggering Medina with multiple counter shots. Estrella goes up 2-0 in rounds.

Estrella is just too defensively sound for Medina, continuously tagging him counter shots. Medina is also deducted a point for holding and hitting showing his frustration.

Judges ringside, Tyrone Short, Jeanne McEvoy and Rob Mullings agree with scores of 40-34, the same as FightNews/Rocky Mountain Boxing. Estrella improves to 2-0 while Medina drops his first bout as a pro, 1-1.

Rubin Jacoby smothers, stops Hodge in one round

Another frustrating round to watch as the southpaw Dawkins stalks an awkward fighting Torres. Dawkins easily wins the round.

Ringside judges see it unanimously at 40-35 as does FightNews/Rocky Mountain Boxing. Dawkins improves to 3-1 while Torres drops to 0-3.

Louishomme schools a game Fadeyi

Louishomme quietly establishes his game plan in round one, jabbing and controlling the distance against Fadeyi. Fadeyi is trying to smother Louishomme while holding and hitting on the inside. Louishomme is doing a good job of countering and keeping Fadeyi off of him. Not much notable action in round two with Louishomme winning it. More action in round three as Louishomme opens up with a vicious body attack. Fadeyi responds with a few shots of his own in a very entertaining and competitive round. Louishomme is applying the pressure in round four as Fadeyi tires. Dominating round for Louishomme as he unloads on a winded but game, Fadeyi. Louishomme has intentions of stopping Fadeyi in round five, countering his opponent with lead uppercuts. Fadeyi weathers the storm and finishes the fight on his feet.

Judges ringside score a shutout as does FightNews/Rocky Mountain Boxing, 50-45 across the board. Louishomme improves to 7-0-1, 4KOs while Fadeyi drops to 10-10-1, 6KOs.
