Mora fight cancelled

The scheduled fight between Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora (22-1-1, 6 KOs) and veteran JC Candelo (30-10-4, 20 KOs) on July 23rd at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California has been cancelled. The bout was to be the main event televised by Telefutura. The “Latin Snake” will now focus on a proposed pay-per-view showdown with Sugar Shane Mosley on September 18th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Mora returned to the ring with a seventh round stoppage of Calvin Green this past April in his first fight in almost seventeen months. Mosley (46-6, 39 KOs) is coming off a twelve round decision loss to Floyd Mayweather in May.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
