All set for Saturday’s clash between Mexican ring legend Erik “Terrible” Morales and Dominican Francisco “El Ahogado” Lorenzo in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. At the final press conference, both Morales and Lorenzo said expect an explosive and strong fight.

Morales stated, “He’s a very experienced opponent who has fought good fighters and it’s guaranteed to be a great show for the fans to come out to support me in my return to Tijuana.”

Although Lorenzo arrived as a late replacement for former world champion Jorge Barrios, he’s determined to defeat Erik Morales in his own hometown. “I came to win and if I can I’ll knock him out … I expect a very difficult fight and I will give everything in the ring to take the WBC Silver welterweight belt. I am full of confidence,” said Lorenzo.

Morales said he’s is motivated and expects this fight to be of his best as he continues his comeback in Tijuana after ten years away.

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
