“After the shocking result of Marquez vs Pacquiao IV, Craig (Craig Christian, trainer) and Angelo (Angelo Hyder, promoter) called me from Australia to discuss the possibility of me against Marquez 2 in Singapore,” John answered this writer when asked about confirmation of this news. “I replied to them, ‘why not?’,” John continued. If everybody agrees, the fight should be in the lightweight division.
Hyder told AFP, “Marquez and his team have always disputed the (2006) decision, even though all three judges gave it to Chris, and so boxing in a neutral place like Singapore could help make the fight happen….we will approach them and try and get the fight because this is unfinished business.”
